10 things I love about you

2 hours on a shooting results in -- a broken camera, even cried last night after the camera stopped working, this baby has been with me for three years, that's three years of laughter and joy we shared together, now my baby is gone, I'm pretty sure the Canon service center will charge me 200 bucks and replace me a new camera body, sigh, I guess that's life, all of us will eventually and luckly grow old -- my Canon just went a little faster than expected.

I'll certainly miss you very much, here are 10 things I loved about you:

1) I love the way the shutter clicks
2) I love that you are strong, even on your last breath you didn't fail me during the shooting.
3) The years of eating on the go certainly developed a coat of delicious aroma on you and I love that familiarity.
4) I love that you capture beautiful photos, you made my job easy, made me look 'talented'.
5) The long scars left when I dropped you last November, even tho everyone in the restaurant thought I was a bit crazy -- keep saying sorry to a camera -- I didn't care, I was really sorry to drop you and the scar reminded me everyday to handle you with care.
6) I love your dull worn out buttons, because it showed me how hard we had worked together and kept me going, worked harder.
7) I loved our time hiking together, I know we were both disappointed -- till now we haven't saw a sight of any rare bird, fox or moose, I kept saying one day, guess that's not enough now.
8) I love to see you sleeping safely in your little compartment in the camera bag.
9) The straps ... well, actually the straps will find home on the new body.
Finally, I even love the annoying little popup flash on you, and nobody ever likes those on camera flash lights.

Also, I'm so grateful and very blessed for my baby to fail at the right time, any sooner I wouldn't be able to shoot a night full of beautifully planned event, any later I would miss out capturing culture-shocking images of my oversea trip -- just think how would I get my Canon serviced then.

Oh by the way last month I purchased a Sony Cybershot W290 (funny how the force of nature always has it's ways to take care of one and other), till my new DSLR body arrives I'll be playing with this one. Never a big Sony fan but for point and shoots I don't mind Sony that much, this model has 12.1 mega pixels, Canons on the other hand are always conservative with pixel size even with their pro model. So far the Sony is holding up pretty well -- not a super slim casing but I care more about mega pixels (about the thickness of two iphones) so for me if it fits in the handbag and back pocket it's good, a bit pesky that I can not control some of the functions, but then again that's the whole meaning of point and shoot right? the camera suppose to shoot in HD stills + video, the battery is on the short side, online reviews are either extremely left or right (I guess it all depends on what you plan to use it for), I'm not going to detail review this camera, as it is just a fun side gadget no means it will be used for professional photography -- if it's just for fun, there's no point to fuss over it, no? overall a decent clicker ... speaking of clickers, I wanted to make buckets of money, yes that much, wallets or pockets can't contain, load 'em bucket full, and purchase everything Leica, from point and shoots to the new M9, oh my, have you seem it's lenses, magnificent!
